Team 25 will open up the defence of their title when they face South Stars tonight as play in the Linden segment of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Competition commences with eight matches at the Mackenzie Market
Park.
The tournament, which will be played at three venues namely Mackenzie Market Park, Silver City Hardcourt and Amelia’s Ward Hardcourt, will see thirty-two teams vie for championship honours over six days with the winners set to receive $400,000 and the championship trophy, while second, third and fourth placed finishers collect $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The other matches scheduled to be played are High Rollers versus Silvertown All Stars; Dream Chasers vs. Speightland; Jermaine’s and Family Silver Bullets vs. High Stars; High Life Crew vs. Eagles; Amelia’s Ward Russians vs. Constab; Main Street Panthers vs. Unknowns and Dave and Celina All-Star vs. Ripping Bullets.
Meanwhile, the teams that have registered are: Magic Stars, Swag Entertainment, Constab, Goal Getters, Main Street Panthers, Good Fellas, Unknowns, Araima Colo Colo, Team 25, Future Stars, South Stars, Hard Knocks, Mile Stars, Cherokee Park, Coomacka, High Rollers, Amazings, Silvertown All-Stars, Bourda All-Stars, Dream Chasers, Dave & Celina All-Stars, Speightland, Ripping Bullets, Jermaine’s and Family Silver Bullets, Attackers, High Stars, High Life Crew, Running Guns, Eagles, Trainline Warriors and Russians.
Action in the tournament resumes on Tuesday, at the same venue, while on Thursday, play swings to the Silver City Hardcourt.
