RHTY&SC, MS 27th Award Ceremony …President Granger, Nand Persaud Co. Ltd, NSC and Global Access on board
The Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS 27th Annual Awards Ceremony scheduled for the 23rd of April would be the largest ever hosted and promises to be a once in a lifetime experience for all the 74 persons

who would be honoured. Support for the Club, the Award Ceremony and its 2017 list of activities continues to pour in as Club executives work around the clock to make the event a success.
President David Granger, Patron of the RHTY&SC, MS last week donated $1M to the Club for its 2017 work programme. The Club Patron, who would be unable to attend the 27th Awards Ceremony due to an urgent official visit overseas, donated one million dollars to support the Club for its programmes and also to undertake some restoration work at its Area ‘H’ Ground Office. Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo will deputise for President Granger.
Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster, who accepted the donation, expressed gratitude to the President, while stating that the funds would be used for the Annual Awards Ceremony, the Club’s highly successful Say NO/Say YES campaign, Charity Outreach Programme support of its monthly Senior Citizens campaign, cricket development programme, while a Patron’s Community Outreach Programme would be launched Sunday.
Under the Patron’s Programme the Rose Hall Town Nursery School, Rose Hall Town Primary School, ST. Joseph Anglican Church and the Mission Chapel Congregation Church would all receive financial assistance towards their 2017 work programmes.
Twelve Cricket Clubs drawn from across Berbice would also benefit from a donation of $300,000 worth of cricket balls in a joint RHTY&SC/National Sports Commission project. The Balls would be shared out to the Clubs as part of an Effort to get more youths involved in Cricket as part of the Club’s Say YES to Sports Programme. Among the Clubs to receive balls are Bush Lot, Blairmont, Tucker Park, Kildonan, Chesney, Big Star and Police.
The RHTY&SC has also received support from Global Access of NO.57 Village who donated one year free supply of Cable Television for the 2016 Cricketer of the Year, while Roraima Group of Companies has contributed a trip to Arrow Point Resort for the same award. Nand Persaud Co. Ltd of NO.36 Village donated $50,000 worth of trophies for the 2017 list of activities.
Kings Jewellery World contributed a West Indian Cricket Medallion for the Benefit of the Year Awardee.
Other Companies and individuals making contributions to the Awards Ceremony are DeSinco Trading, Jamie McDonald of Fitness Express, Ricks and Sari, Namilco, John Lewis Styles, F+H Printery, Office of the Speaker, Ansa Mcal, Modern Optical Service and Gizmos and Gadgets.
A total of 74 Club Members, Retired Teachers, Outstanding Teachers of the Year and Law Enforcement Officers would be honoured at the Awards Ceremony, while a total of over $2.5M worth of trophies, medals, prizes, framed certificates, plaques and donations would be shared out. Fifteen outstanding Guyanese would also be presented with RHTY&SC, MS highest Award, The Dolphin Award of Excellence.
