As the days wind down to Super 4 Massive Easter Sunday Football Fiesta at the Den Amstel ground
where the West Demerara’s top four sides will collide, the first semi final clash will see Pouderoyen FC taking on up stagers Eagles FC for a place in the final.
Eagles had upstaged their more seasoned rivals Pouderoyen in the 3rd place match of the just concluded NSC sponsored Den Amstel Mash Cup competition and according to Pouderoyen’s Head Coach, Adrian Giddings, it is the first and last time they will lose to Eagles.
”We have been training very hard ever since our loss to Eagles which was their first against us and it would be the last as well. We will look to the likes of goalkeeper Sherwin Wills, Alanzo Bowman, Jermaine Mc Donald and Sebastien Edwards to deliver a win for us and a place in the final,” Giddings shared.
A more modest Eagles Coach, Kerron Schmidt informed that they would be employing the conventional playing style in their quest to make it their second win over Pouderoyen.
”We are prepared for Pouderoyen and have the ability to adjust our playing style to counter what they will bring to the park.”
Eagles FC will be relying on the likes of Daniel Clarke (forward), Orette Stephenson (attacking midfield), Chris Macey, Collin Williams, Jarvis Williams and Stephan Bentick to guide them to a win and a chance to battle for the top prize of $100,000. The second semi final, also to be played for 40 minutes, will bring together Uitvlugt Warriors and the red hot Den Amstel. Kick off time is 17:00hrs.
