Entries were expected to be closed yesterday the N&M Trucking Service of West Berbice has come forward with massive sponsorship for the seventh annual Guyana Cup Fever Horserace meet. With only a few days remaining before race date the excitement has built to fever pitch for the Mega event slated for this Sunday, 16th April (Easter Sunday) at the Port Mourant (Big Yard) Turf Club, Port Mourant Corentyne, Berbice.
The meet which will be held in collaboration with the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing stables has so far attracted 75 entries.
The N&M Trucking Service has so far joined other major sponsors in Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall of Bourda Market, The Shariff Business Enterprise, the Jumbo Jet Business Conglomerate and Friends in inking their name to the prestigious event.
The lineup for the feature B1 and lower event is almost complete for the $1M first prize and trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited. The lineup includes the best of the best in horseracing in Guyana at the moment with the likes of the much vaunted Princess She Not, the fearsome CP Got Even, the inform trio of Lady Budapest, Brave Sky and Golden Blue Echo, the dependable Just Call Me Boss, Spit Fire, Jack In My Style, Keep on Swinging, Climate Change and the returning Kazi Azaria as they look to steal the show in the 1900M event.
The other events on the days card are the –event for E3 and lower West Indies bred non earners for 2016 and 2017 and E3 US and Canadian bred non earners for 2016 and 2017 over 1200M.
The 4-year-old West Indies bred and G3 and lower event over 1200M which incidentally the distance for all the other events.
The race for animals classified H3 and lower. The event for 3 years old Guyana bred and horses classified ‘I’ 1 and lower. The race for Guyana bred three years old maiden horses. There is the event for animals classified J2 and K and the L and lower event.
Among other top runners set to give turfites their Easter Weekend treat and their money’s worth are – Release the Beast, Unsettled, Goodwill Boy, Light UP Canada, Spit Fire, Red and Lovely and Its My Choice, Super Bowl, Cat Messiah, Settling Star, Sweet Return, Isn’t She Charming, Firing Line, Big Man Boss, Goodwill Boy, Amazing Run, Light UP Canada, Witchie Poo, Campador, Red and Lovely and Its My Choice, T and T, Slim Shady, Bird Man, Chelsea, Puppy Tail, Party Time, Flow Jo, Mary Ann, Miss Olympic, Prince Saria, Miss Angelie, The Rock, King Stanley, Supreme Cat, Royal Paymaster, Crown Prince, Natural Beauty, Awesome Cash, Secret Escape, Little, De Rocket and Amazon Warrior among others.
A number of added attractions and giveaways and incentives including free kites will be given away on race day.
Free programmes will be made available to patrons and fans, while Banks DIH Limited will be having on the spot promotions.
