Dear Editor,
I would like this letter of concern of mine to be published. I am a resident of Albouystown and as of recent there has been an action by a particular gentleman that has forced my hand to pen this letter. This individual resides on the corner of James and Garnett Streets, Albouystown in a very old, unpainted, wooden two level structure. This individual has a tendency of placing a metallic drum on the road, filling it up with heavy wooden material and then burning them. Now this begins during the course of the day and would extend into the night, way into the night. Now since this is not regular debris but heavy material, it takes a very long time to burn and at the same time a lot of smoke emanates.
Now with the smoke, the smell, burnt debris blowing up in the air combined with the heat, makes for a very uncomfortable situation for persons living in the area. A call was placed to the Mayor and City council and I was advised that I should contact the fire station. When I called the fire station I was advised by a very rude operator that I need to come in and lodge a complaint to the fire prevention department. I have no problem doing so, but by the time this is done the damage would have already been done. When, and if they do decide to visit, the drum and its contents, will it be removed from the road?
I am therefore calling on the relevant authorities to look into this matter since it is making persons uncomfortable plus, there are children and older people that I am certain this heavy smoky smell is adversely affecting.
