latest entity to throw support behind The Young Warriors Cricket Club (YWCC) for the staging of the Mash Cup 2017 which is set for April 30 the Cumberland Cricket Ground, East Canje, Berbice.
The organisers have indicated that everything is in place for this mega event which has been the major fund raiser for the club over the years. Proceeds from this event assists to take care of its cricket programmes. Over the years, funds from this event were also donated for religious and educational purposes as part of the club’s policy towards community development.
It is expected that a number of teams from the East Canje area will compete in the action packed five overs aside cricket competition for prize monies of over $100,000, while two top Masters Softball teams in Guyana are expected to do battle in a 15 overs feature game. There will be added attractions for the kids and the entire family. Live musical entertainment and a well stocked bar will be there.
At the simple presentation ceremony held recently, Dave Rampersaud, Managing Director of Impressive Signs, said he was delighted to be part of this event. He emphasized the role sports play in the development of young people and the communities in which they live. He promised continued support. In response, Ray Ali, treasurer of the club was thankful for the support, adding that the event will provide entertainment for the entire family. He encouraged the general public to support the business entity that produces top quality products such as banners, number plates, signs and tinting. Recently, the company opened a printery which provides services like invitations, cards etc.
Mash Cup 2016 raised closed to $500,000 and the club would like to thank all the sponsors.
