32-nations confirmed to date for Dom. Rep.
The Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) has named a 7-man team for the Pan-American Road Cycling Championships that will take place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from May 4-7, next.
Headlining the team which would have been selected based on participation in the federation’s races so far this year is Team Coco’s Jamal John who has been in outstanding form so far this season.
The other riders who have all been turning in encouraging performances to date this year are Hamzah Eastman (Team Coco’s), Paul DeNobrega (Digicel Team Evolution), Junior Niles (Team Coco’s), Raphael Leung (United), Dwayne Gibbs Jnr. (Kaieteur), Andrew Hicks (United).
Leung, Hicks and Gibbs will be contesting the Under-23 category which will be a 140Km race on May 6th, while John, DeNobrega, Eastman and Niles will be aiming to bring glory for Guyana in the Elite segment of the race on May 7th which will be a 170Km battle.
There will also be individual Time Trials but the Guyanese would not be participating.
