Dear Editor,
Please be informed that on Sunday May 5, 2017 the title of Professor will be conferred upon Vincent Alexander. This is not an Honorary Title, but an earned Academic Title. The recognition of Professorship was conferred upon Professor Alexander for his research into Local Government, research and teaching of the history of Guyana, especially during the era of President Burnham, and for his dedication to teaching in “Class Rooms Without Walls,” educating the people of Guyana where ever they are.
The Executive of the Ghana Day Organisation holds that as an independent country (50 years May 26, 2016), Guyana has the right to honour its citizens without seeking the validation of any external agency or authority. Furthermore we drew upon the national academic authority of Rev. Dr. Rudi R. Guyan, Manager/Therapist of the KaMaatic Non-medical Non-invasive Holistic Therapies Institute (if such an authority is needed) as our Institutional validation of the Certificate of Professor, awarded to Professor Vincent Alexander.
The Ghana Day executive is requesting that henceforth nationally, and specifically all African Centred organisations and institutions recognize Professor Vincent Alexander, and give him due respect by addressing him at all times by his official title, especially in official discourse and communication.
Sister Penda Guyan
President
Ghana Day Organisation
