St. Stanislaus College defeated Cummings Lodge Secondary by eight wickets to win the final of the Forbes Burnham Foundation Secondary Schools Windball tournament played recently at the National Gymnasium.
Captain of the victorious St. Stanislaus College Omadavi Manoo accepts the trophy from Director of Sport Christopher Jones in the presence of her teammates.
Cummings Lodge Secondary batted first and scored 89-3 with Casey Charles scoring 26, Sarah Amin 22, Grace Ishrilall 20 and Chitra Mohabir 12. St. Stanislaus College responded with 95-2. Omadavi Manoo struck an unbeaten 76 with ten sixes.
Leonora Secondary took third place with a nine-wicket victory over defending champions Covent Garden which batted first and made 104 without loss. Makilla Maynard scored 60 and Elisa Clark 42. Leonora Secondary replied with 113-1. Chandni Jaimanal struck 52, Stacy Adams 37 and Maureen Robinson 16.
St. Stanislaus College beat Leonora Secondary and Cummings Lodge overcame Covent Garden in the semi finals. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and the National Sports Commission will be hosting an Inter schools Windball tournament scheduled to bowl off on April 3 at the National Gymnasium.
