After graduating from the Rookies Category in 2014 as the champion, Team Fullworks Roshan Ali has been on a mission ever since to dominate the new categories he has been competing in and this Sunday’s ‘Race of Champions’
Meet being hosted by the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club will be another step in that direction.
Ali speaking with Kaieteur Sport via telephone yesterday said his mission is very clear and that is to dominate his rivals and to do this he has to be prepared and focused.
”I know what it is to be a champion and I will be using that experience to dominate the two categories that I will be competing in which is the Group 1 and 3 categories,” Ali told this newspaper.
Ali will be piloting a Honda Civic in the Group 1 category and a Toyota Starlet in the Group 3 Division and according to him both machines are in excellent condition and fully prepared to upstage his rivals.
The local speedster admitted that his elevation to the higher categories would have presented him with lots of challenges, but agreed that it is an aspect of the sport that he is willing to confront, especially with his confidence high to add to the quickness and reliability of the cars.
He said that while he has no knowledge of who else will be taking the starter’s orders he reckoned that drivers such as Chet and Raj Singh, Shairaz Roshandin, Syed Hassan, John Joseph, Rameeze Mohamed and Suriname’s Oliver Tjin-Liep-Shie are among those who pose the greatest threat to his ambitions.
He urged fans to come out and enjoy a day of entertainment and exhilarating racing.
