With the sun out in all its glory after overnight rain, the Jaguars, on 119-3 needing another 111 runs to avoid an innings defeat, started cautiously on a good batting track which showed no effects of being covered during the rest day.
Chanderpaul (30) and Singh (13) the two most suited for the role of saving the game by batting ‘long’ carried the partnership to 50 from 128 balls, 81 minutes with Chanderpaul’s contribution being 33 and Singh playing an excellent supporting role.
Thirty-two minutes into the day’s play Chanderpaul pulled Kevin Stoute for the first four of the day and followed it up with a magnificent cover drive for the second boundary in the over.
Chanderpaul edged Stoute for four to bring up his 137th fifty and second of the match and his half-century took 94 minutes, 78 balls and included nine fours.
Chanderpaul, batting on a lightning fast outfield, steered Stoute for four to post the 150 from 198 minutes and 313 balls before Singh’s first boundary of the day was an edge off Chase, 60 minutes into the morning session.
With an hour’s play gone the Jaguars were putting up plenty resistance and were 159-3 with Chanderpaul on 55 and Singh on 27, but Chase soon got the crucial break-through when Chanderpaul drove to cover at 169-4 and the handful of Bajan fans and the entire Barbados team celebrated joyously.
Reifer, one of seven left-handers in the side and a consistent performer for the Jaguars
joined Singh with his team needing 61 runs to make the host bat again and the loss of the experienced Chanderpaul inside the first session, made the task of drawing the game even harder.
Singh and Reifer took the score to 179 before Singh was removed by Warrican and by Lunch the Jaguars were 186-5, still 44 away from avoiding an innings defeat.
After the interval the 200 came up in 292 minutes off 458 balls as Anthony Bramble, who made 77 in the first innings and Reifer, buckled down for a fight with Bramble pulling Nurse for four and punching Cummins past mid-off for four, while Reifer (9) edged Cummins for Braithwaite at slip to floor the offering.
In a battle of attrition, the pair survived with resolute batting and after an hour into the session the Jaguars were 128-5, needing two to avoid an innings defeat.
With the scores level, Bramble pulled Cummins and got an under edge onto his stumps as Barbados broke the 51-run stand as Jaguars slipped to 230-6. Two runs later Romero shepherd (1) was well taken by the Keeper as Cummins struck twice in consecutive overs.
Cummins struck three runs later when Devendra Bishoo (2) was caught behind at 235-8,

while Pestano joined Reifer, who has matured tremendously as a cricketer since he joined the Jaguars Franchise.
Pestano stroked Warrican down the ground before a sweetly timed boundary through extra cover in the same over took him to double figures, while Reifer stroked Warrican for his first four off his 118th ball.
Pestano danced into Nurse and banged him over his head for four and by Tea the Jaguars were 264-8 with a lead of 34 and the ninth wicket partnership was already 51.
After Tea Pestano, whose highest score in the GCB Franchise League for U/Corentyne is 87, latched on to Chase and dispatched him to the mid-wicket boundary before pushing forward to one that bounced from Chase and gloved it to short-leg with the score 290-9.
Motie edged Nurse for four and cut him for another boundary before executing a scintillating straight drive when Cummins pitched up, while Refier continued to exhibit a wonderful temperament as the last wicket stand progressed as time was becoming an important factor before Warrican removed Motie to leave Barbados in a t20 chase.
