Police have arrested an Enmore man after an altercation at an entertainment establishment led to the recovery of two guns.
According to the police, about 00:10hrs yesterday, a vendor of Newtown, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, allegedly threatened a fellow patron at the drinking spot located in the same village.
“He was subdued and handed over to ranks of the Guyana Police Force by public-spirited citizens together with an unlicensed .38 Taurus revolver, five (5) live matching rounds and one spent shell.”
According to police, about 09:30hrs, the suspect was escorted to his home where a search was conducted and an unlicensed 12-gauge single-barrel Stephen Grant shotgun and six live cartridges were found concealed in a wardrobe.
“The suspect who has since admitted ownership of the latter weapon and ammunition only, is cooperating with investigators.”
