Dear Editor,
The citizens of Guyana had expected more from this Administration but instead it seems as though this nation is going down the old road once again. I believe that the citizens were hoodwinked since they had no other choice but to vote for the Coalition Government due to the failures of the past administration.
It is almost two (2) years since they have taken office and they have brought nothing but burden to Guyanese. I say this because I have been told of many situations where political appointees are displaying their dictatorial and domineering behavior on employees within organisations.
They are treating the workforce with scant regard and in some cases workers’ employment is being threatened by these individuals who were politically appointed.
Have the Dark Ages returned? Because it seems as though workers voice are being suppressed by these bullies and are subject to constant intimidation and harassment in the work environment by well-known political appointees of this Coalition Government.
Editor, there is an increase of complaints from a particular organisation since a well-known officer has been employed within its establishment.
This appointee is threatening the livelihoods and more so the well-being of employees in the work environment.
The complaints from staff are numerous and it seems as though they are being pressured and threatened verbally so that they will become frustrated and leave their jobs, making it easier for the head of the organisation to appoint his friends and relatives. Is this the change the people voted for?
The Senior Managers of the organisation are also afraid to challenge the appointed figure for fear of losing their jobs.
Every day, the employees are subjected to physiological, emotional and verbal abuse from a tyrant who was appointed by this Government and because it is a known fact that there are limited jobs available on the market, it is either they cut and run or stay and work under the pressures of the appointed Dictator.
This official also believes that anyone who tries to challenge or put up a resistance towards his behaviour is a supporter of the opposition party. Editor, I wish to state that because of this mistrustful and arrogant attitude, the employees are being mistreated at the hands of this tyrant.
More so, this individual is not only abusing his authority but he is indirectly pressuring persons to leave the organisation. This well-known figure is also ranting and raving that he cannot be removed since he is aligned to a political party.
I am also sure that even if the name of this individual is release nothing will be done by this Government to remove him and there will be continued victimization and ill-treatment of the persons working under this power house.
The citizens have suffered under the hands of the previous regime and this administration is nearly two years old and we are seeing the arrogance being displayed by these heartless individuals who torment the lives of the employees. The sad thing is the PNC-APNU never expected to regain power and now they are in office they are forgetting that it is the people that supported and put them into office because they wanted a change.
This Government has learnt nothing from previous times and has failed to deliver on its promise to Guyanese. This Government needs to open its eyes and see the continuous blunder that it is making; the months are winding down and before you know it, it is year 2020 and there is no guarantee that the Coalition will be put back into office because persons are disappointed and they will either vote for the Opposition party or abstain from voting.
