Dear Editor,
There is a lot that has been said about the new leader of the AFC. .. Firstly, the PPP is the majority and if an election is called now the PPP will win a majority, due to the childishness of the performance of the Coalition. Secondly, the PNC and the APNU cosmetics are the minority. The AFC constituencies will not vote for the AFC especially with what is happening now with the coalition. The AFC with a black leader will take votes from the PNC, which is in the interest of the PPP. With Trotman as the leader, the AFC is doomed. The largest financial support was from the Ramjattan side of the party. It is unfortunate if the AFCites did not see that political correctness was the priority on voting at the AFC congress.
Speaking with Ramjattan last week, it was heartening to hear him say, “Joe myself and Trotman are friends, he is a good lawyer, we worked hard on AFC, we made a difference together, and we would have differences in the AFC, but nothing will make us split, we come a long way, and not even God will cause a split in the party. Joe again what you have written in the papers and what you are saying to me, may it be true or wrong, delegates will decide, this is democracy.” Minister Ramjattan, you are true to your nature, you reminded me of Dr. Jagan.
