The second suspect in the alleged beating to death of domestic worker, Mohan Ball, at Williamsburg,
Corentyne, Berbice, has been arrested. Divisional Commander Ian Amsterdam confirmed that the suspect was arrested late yesterday afternoon and has sought the services of an attorney.
He is the other individual that police were on the hunt for after eyewitnesses revealed that Mohan Ball was involved in an argument with the two men presently in custody. The duo allegedly beat the domestic worker to death and dumped his body in a trench at Williamsburg Backdam.
Commander Amsterdam stated that both men are expected to be charged shortly
On December 29, the body of 49-year-old Mohan Ball, of Williamsburg Village, Corentyne was discovered by children who were playing in the area. The remains were noticed by one of the youths who was nearest to the trench. The lad rushed to the sister of the dead man to relate what he had found.
Raywattie Fraser told this publication at that time that her husband ventured to the area to confirm whether or not it was true, and the worst was confirmed when he saw the man’s lifeless body partially submerged in the trench, with what appeared to be marks of violence.
A post mortem examination was inconclusive.
