A man who beat one of his workers to death after he and another colleague allegedly stole a quantity of gold from his camp at Konawaruk Backdam, Potaro on January 19, 2013 was arrested in Georgetown last Tuesday.
Patrick Philander called “Old Rose” will be charged today for the murder of Nigel John.
According to information received, Philander, after suspecting that John and another worker stole gold from his camp, confronted the duo and eventually started beating the two men with the help of his friends. During the process, John died.
Kaieteur News was told that the suspect fled the location.
Last Tuesday, the cops finally laid eyes on him after three years. He has since given a statement to the police.
