The Minister told the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Barton Scotland, that the Corporation has continued to manage the Airport in 2016, in an effective and efficient manner in keeping with its mandate.
The Minister stated that from January this year, to November 30, revenue collected amounted to $1.168B compared to $1.033B for the corresponding period last year. These collections, he said, reflect a 13 percent increase.
This projected amount also shows that for the past six years, the entity’s revenue collection has almost doubled.
According to reports, the agency collected a total sum of $635M in 2010 followed by an increase in 2011, taking the revenue collection up to $748M.
In 2012, the CJIA collected $1.094B; $1.1B in 2013; $1.017 in 2014; and $1.112B in 2015.
Furthermore, the Corporation has recorded 513,444 processed passengers as of November 2016, compared to 459,346 last year, and it was twice successfully audited by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) of the United States of America in 2016.
Meanwhile, Expressions of Interest were invited for the provision of state of the art security equipment and services at the Airport.
