Guyana’s Sunburst Badminton Champion Narayan Ramdhani, who is currently on Scholarship in Vancouver, Canada, training in Badminton at
Shuttlesport Badminton Academy and pursuing a degree in Sports Science, placed 5th overall in Men Singles draw of sixteen players in the University Under-23 Tournament which was played in Nanaimo on Saturday last.
The 18-year-old Narayan old and still a Junior Player, represented Shuttlesport to reach the Quarterfinals in the Main Draw by defeating Robert Foster of Vancouver Island University
21-13, 21-18, but lost to James Ho of University of British Colombia 21-14, 19-21, 21-5 in a thrilling three setter that stopped him from reaching the Semi-Finals. James Ho eventually won the Tournament.
In the Placement Draw, Narayan defeated Thomas Tran of Simon Fraser University: 21-9, 21-7 and Jack Chen of University of British Colombia: 21-23, 21-10, 21-12 to gain the 5th place overall in the Tournament.
Narayan was down to team up with Zack Fan of Shuttlesport to play in the Men Under-23 Doubles yesterday.
