A post mortem examination conducted yesterday on the body of No 70 Village carpenter Faiyaz Narinedatt has revealed that man died from a fractured skull and had other injuries.
Narinedatt was found with multiple injuries on the Number 70 Public Road on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police sources they are treating the matter as a hit-and-run but have not ruled out other possibilities since relatives would have suspected foul play.
Relatives said that at the time he was discovered, the man’s body had what appeared to be marks of violence when they visited the scene.
Narinedatt had left home early that day and ended up at a party in the village that was hosted by an overseas based-Guyanese.
Relatives are suspicious of the events leading up to Narinedatt’s death, after his shirt and slippers were discovered in the street where the party was held.
Relatives also noticed broken paling staves in the street which they claim were used to beat the man. Narinedatt leaves to mourn his parents, wife and two children.
