Members of the Guyana Police Force and members of the Cops and Faith Religious
organisation on Thursday visited the grieving family of the late Yansen Brush, the 38-year-old woman who was murdered by her estranged reputed husband Winston Benjamin.
The woman was killed on Monday at a shop not too far from her home at Ulverston, Corentyne Berbice.
The police team was led by Officer in charge of Subdivision No 2, Corentyne District, Deputy Superintendent Guy Nurse. Nurse was accompanied by Inspector Elton Davidson, S.O in charge of the Whim Police Station; Woman Corporal Tyndall; Community Relations Officer, Female Constable Archibald.
The Police ranks were accompanied by Pastor Dinesh Gomes of the Berbice Cops and Faith Networks. Deputy Superintendent Nurse and with Pastor Gomes offered the family counselling, prayers and words of encouragement.
Nurse gave the family the assurance that the police are working diligently on the matter since the perpetrator has already been arrested and remanded to jail.
The woman leaves to mourn four children, including a one year old.
