Dear Editor;
These are my comments on the ‘bond gate’ scandal that involves Dr. George Norton and his cohorts. Undoubtedly, this bond was a gift to Mr. Larry Singh plus a rental fee of $12.5 million dollars per month for three (3) years ($450M) for the intellectual authors of this fraudulent scheme. Thanks to the opposition Members of Parliament for exposing this scam.
Dr. Norton’s assertion to the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) re: the reinstatement of the CEO, Mr. Michael Khan were as follows; “There are persons who are not familiar with their roles and have been doing what they are not suppose (sic) to be doing and we will straighten that out.”
Dr. Norton has now done what he (Norton) was not supposed to have done and he must be straightened out. Dr. Norton must tender his resignation of Minister of Public Health or be sacked; should he (Norton) do the former he will display integrity and set a standard for defaulting ministers to follow.
It must be noted that Dr. Norton apologized to the nation for lying to the National Assembly re:”bond gate” and immediately after informed the media that he sent a written apology to the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Barton Scotland for misleading the National Assembly on bond gate. Grilled by the media, Norton insisted that he sent that written apology, but when asked to produce a copy of the apology Norton said he did not send it. George Norton lied again. Dr. Norton has now confirmed himself as a liar.
With respect to Minister Ramjattan’s defense of Dr. Norton, Angels are tossed out of the heavenly kingdom when they cross the line, as for dropping catches in cricket, Sir Vivian Richards during his tenure as captain of the West Indies team sent a player off the field for dropping a catch. It is said that our Guyanese spin bowler Lance Gibbs made sure a Guyanese wicket keeper never represented Guyana again as a wicket keeper for failing to stump a batsman who was out of his batting crease.

President Granger defending Norton’s ‘bond gate’ scandal has unknowingly open Dr. Norton to being sanctioned by saying Norton’s bond scheme is not criminal, either human error or administrative error.
Mr. President, Adam and Eve made a human error, that is disobedience and was harshly punished, thrown out the Garden of Eden condemned to hard work until death and Eve to bring forth children in pain. Today Mr. President, we are all doomed by that curse through their (that is, Adam and Eve) human error.
As for administrative error, look at our southern neighbor who made such an error and was relieved of the presidency of that country and is likely to face prosecution. President Granger you cannot defend your ministers when they have crossed the line. Do what you are expected to do? Norton now! Norton must go! He is a disgrace. As a senior citizen, I strongly suggest you reshuffle and cleanse your cabinet.
