Dear Editor,
It has been one year since I have been a resident of West Minister, West Bank Demerara( Parafaith Harmony H/Scheme). Since living here I am forced to deal with a neighbour who refuses to build a toilet facility on his property.
It is a family of seven, which includes five children with the eldest being about thirteen and the youngest being about one year old. I have made several complaints to the Region 3 NDC and also to the Region 3 RDC and they so far have been no help.
The situation is sickening and unbearable having to deal with the stench of urine and feces on a daily basis, since, the back yard is one of the frequent disposal areas. I would like to know why the authorities are so reluctant to address this matter since most of the residents who have to live or pass this property are at risk of some form of exposure to whatever disease/diseases would arise from these deliberate acts.
Mr. Editor, our President is at the moment advocating for a clean, green environment. Can you please help remind the local governing body of the motto.
Rovina Campbell
