Dear Editor,
Please permit me to give my view of the situation at NAREI which was and is very interesting. To the person who signed as concerned employee, you are a very mature and brave person. God richly bless you
It is very true what is presently happening at NAREI and everyone ALL — the entire Board puts a deft ear. The entire NAREI is run by a certain person who has power equal to the CEO. It is overbearing presently what is happening.
Six employees were sent off. None of the six (6) employees’ letter of termination had a reason, so how it suddenly boils down to mal practice and lack of performance when they are not allowed to function. The case is that, a certain person always holds back the finance/resources for the researchers.
The same Board that has agreed for the termination should be changed because they are just there for being THERE and not functioning. Had they been functioning they would have investigated the six (6) employees instead of terminating them. If it was a case of malpractice and lack of performance was a letter of warning issued, were they advised? I am most shocked with the Chairman of the Board who I thought was very fair and educated not to be fooled. Nothing is fair at NAREI and the sad thing is NO BIG WIGS seem to care.
Rain falls on the just and the unjust. We the employees of NAREI recommended since before May 2015, that we would be more comfortable working with a certain person; no one intervene, we only overheard that the very Deputy CEO was sent home. Now you are hearing about malpractice and lack of performance, when that same individual was the only one man team that developed the Pesticide Board and got it running. Where are the Board Members, are they really there? The Board members have been approached verbally and written to by employees to no response in solving not one of the issues. How on earth would you say NAREI is running excellently. No one wants to speak out but this is the time to talk.
The Institute is running mainly by the rules and laws of a certain person. The Board is dormant indeed. If they were unable to run the institute before how can they run it now? How can the Government say they need agriculture and sent home a qualified Deputy CEO with over 20 years’ experience? All six (6) persons have years of experience. Where are we going NAREI? Agriculture is dying. The employees are calling for help; we really do need systems functioning and positive changes.
When it is convenient you would hear that recommendation came from the Board. That’s all that matters because the employees can’t have a word with the Board and say it solved the problem so it is frustrating. It is a nice picture with dirt inside. The painted picture is fake. Please, help is needed at NAREI.
Concerned employee of NAREI
