Michael Anthony of Team Evolution outsprinted Raphael Leung and Clive DeNobrega to win the feature School Boys and Invitation 35-lap race when the 16th annual Degree National Park 11-Race Cycle Meet sponsored by DeSinco Ltd. was held yesterday.
In winning the contest which saw five cyclists leading for most of the race, Anthony stopped the clock at One Hour 17 Minutes 38.49 Seconds which betted last year’s winning time of One Hour 18 Minutes 22.77 Seconds that was achieved by Junior Niles who managed 5th place this time around; Christopher Griffith ended 4th with Paul Choo Wee Nam taking the 6th place.
Griffith won four of the eight sprint prizes with Anthony collecting two. There was one each for Niles and De Nobrega.
At the presentation ceremony, Human Resource Manager of DeSinco Ltd. Ms Gemma Cornelius-Williams thanked the cyclists for their continued dedication and commitment towards competing at the National Park.
Ms. Williams informed that DeSinco Ltd. has also shown its commitment towards the development of the sport by committing for sixteen years to this event which attracted close to 30 riders.
Race Organiser Hassan Mohamed also expressed thanks to the riders who made yesterday’s event and all those over the years possible. All the riders and officials were presented with Degree products compliments of DeSinco Ltd.
