The oldest resident of Rose Hall Town, who lives alone would receive one year’s supply of free Cable Television from Global Access as the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) continues to attract
sponsorship for the 46th anniversary celebration of Rose Hall Town.
The 95 year-old resident would receive the package during the Opening Ceremony organised by the RHTY&SC, M.S and its eight cricket teams and scheduled for next Wednesday.
Global Access, a local TV would also be donating another year of free supply to the Winner of the Hip Hop Dance competition on Saturday September 17. The RHTY&SC has also obtained sponsorship from Travel Span Inc. for the said activity.
The popular Travel Agency headed by Nohar Singh (CEO) would be donating an airline ticket to the United States and two cash prizes. Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster disclosed that the airline ticket would be given to a Rose Hall Town resident who topped the University of Guyana Computer Science Classes in 2015, while one of two cash prizes would be given as a sponsorship package to a national youth cyclist who is a resident of Rose Hall Town.
The other prize would be awarded to a single parent of seven children, to assist her with keeping her children in school under the RHTY&SC, M.S and Guyana Police Force ‘B’ Division Say Yes to Education programme.
Foster also disclosed that plans are well underway for the expected massive parade, march past and opening ceremony for Town Week, on Wednesday next.
The Parade is scheduled to move off from the Western end of Rose Hall Town and has attracted members of the Club, Police, Prison, Guyana Defence Force, Guyana Fire Service, members of several Town Constabularies across Guyana, Churches, Students of the Guysuco Training Centre and several Schools drawn from across Lower Corentyne.
At least three musical bands would provide accompaniment led by the Guyana Police Force. President David Granger is expected to take the salute during the March Past, while Minster of Communities Ronald Bulkan and Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo have been invited to deliver remarks during the Opening Ceremony which would be held under the anniversary motto “Proud of our Past, Optimistic of our Future”.
The organising club, during the opening ceremony would honour the top Rose Hall Town Grade Six CSEC students with a trip to the Arrow Point Resort, Compliments of Roraima Airways Inc.
A Special Television Documentary on Rose Hall Town and a poster on the Township would also be unveiled during the Opening Ceremony.
