GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Nat. U-17 League….
Doubles off the boots of Nial Reynolds and Terrique Benn laid the platform for a resounding 5-2 win in favour of Paradise Invaders over Lichfield Nuggets on Thursday afternoon last when the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra Association league continued at the Mahaicony ground.
Godwin Humphrey it was who notched Paradise’s opening goal from the penalty spot with 10 minutes on the game clock but with the exact amount of time elapsing, Lichfield pulled one back to even the score though Kahdon Archibald’s goal.
As the exchanges continued back and forth, Paradise restored their one goal advantage when Reynolds fired in the first of his brace in the 70-minute clash. Reynolds breached the Lichfield defence and goalkeeper in the 27th minute.
And one minute to the half time whistle, Benn touched in his first goal (34th) to see his side go to the break with a comfortable 2-goal cushion, 3-1.
But on resumption, Lichfield were on target again, this time it was Tyrone Pompey who blasted the nets to reduce the lead by one goal in the 45th minute. Paradise would then put the game beyond the reach of their opponents who were getting a bit too close.
Benn netted their fourth goal in the 54th minute, a sweetly timed header from just within the six yards box and Reynolds sealed the deal on 60 minutes with goal number five for Paradise and his second of the match. Paradise walked away 5-2 winners.
