One of Guyana and the Caribbean’s leading corporate entities, Ansa McAl is now the
official sponsor of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC) organised Town Week in observance of the 46th anniversary celebrations of Rose Hall Town as a Township.
Rose Hall, the smallest town in Guyana was granted the status of Township on the 20th of September, 1970 and Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation was granted the approval from the Mayor and Town Council to organise a series of activities in observance of this milestone between September 14 – 25.
The Ansa McAl sponsorship package includes entertainment at the various public events, trophies for sports and educational competitions, operating a booth at the Career and Business Fair on the 22nd and two City based artistes for the grand public concert scheduled for the 25th which will end almost two weeks of celebrations.
Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster said he is delighted that the long-standing sponsor of the club has come on board as an official sponsor of the Town Week which would be the best ever organised in Guyana.
Ansa McAl’s huge sponsorship was the final puzzle to fall into place and Foster expressed gratitude to Marketing Director Troy Cadogan for approving the club’s request. The Town Week would be organised by the club’s eight cricket teams and its Over-35 section.
The almost two weeks of celebration is expected to commence with a March Past and Opening Ceremony on September 14 while activities would conclude on September 25 with the hosting of the Historic Rose Hall Town Cuisine Competition and Public Concert.
Among the other programmes planned are a Television Documentary on the Township, Public Exhibition, Tourism Posters, Honouring of Top Students, Medical Outreach, Educational Competitions, Steel Band Concert and Dancing Competitions, Launching of a 40-page Booklet, Career and Business Fair, Opening of Family Recreational Park and the honouring of residents over the age of 85 years.

The eight cricket teams – RHT Farfan & Mendes Under-15, Bakewell Under-17 and Second Division, Metro Females, Pepsi Under-19 and Intermediate and Gizmos & Gadgets First Division are urging all local and overseas based residents of Rose Hall Town to get involved in all the planned activities.
