The Kennard Memorial Turf Club Emancipation race meet will be staged on September 18 at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
The main event which is the A3 and lower W/A fetched a top prize of $1,000,000 and goes for seven furlongs. The runner up will take home $500,000 and third place $250,000. Other races carded for the day are D3 Maiden and E and lower (7 furs) with a top prize of $600,000, G1 and lower W/A (7 furs) in which the winner will pocket $280,000, H1 and lower (7 furs) for a first prize of $240,000, L-W/A (5 furs) with a top purse of $120,000, L-W/A (5 furs) where the winner will collect $120,000, J1 and lower W/A (5 furs) for a winning sum of $180,000 and two years Guyana bred (5 furs) which will see the champion taking home $200,000.
The races will be run under the rules of the KMTC and in the event there are less than five horses entered for any event, the club reserves the right to cancel or reframe the said event. Owners of horses are required to pay at least $5,000 for each horse at the time of entry.
Entries will be closed on September 11 and no late entries will be accepted. Horses can be entered through Roopnarine Matadial (325 3192), Ivan Dipnarine (331 7010), Mr. Kennard (623 7609, 225 4819, 226 1399), Fazal Habibulla (657 7010), Dennis Deroop (640 6396) or Compton Sancho (602 1567).
