An elderly couple of Republic Park, East Bank Demerara, was forced to flee from their home after five heavily armed bandits stormed into their home Tuesday afternoon and demanded cash and jewellery.
The victims have been identified as Bharrat and Parbattie Jaggot of 241 Republic Park.
According to information received, the men forced themselves into the couple’s home and held them at gunpoint and demanded their valuables.
The couple allegedly told the men that they did not have any money but handed over jewellery, cellular phones and a laptop computer. The men then made good their escape after collecting the loot.
No one has been arrested.
