out tops in the Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA) / Modern Optical Service of 316 Middle Street, Georgetown sponsored Combat Pistol competition which was organised by the association’s Smallbore Section.
Contested at the Timehri Rifle Ranges, the winning trio amassed 474 points which was good enough to land them the winners’ trophies. Their score was well ahead of the second place John Ferreira, Gordon Pearson and Jermaine Softleigh who were 43 points back on 431.
The competition consisted of three-stages of fast paced shooting and moving within a given period of time and limited available ammunition. The teams were selected to reflect a mixture of strong and emerging shooters who were all unaware of their fellow team members prior to the match and registration on Sunday last.
The third place was occupied by Ryan McKinnon, Totoram Bishundat and Anthony Bissoondyal with a score of 404 points, while the fourth place went to Dr. Johan DaSilva, Harold Hopkinson and Felicia Nandan who put together 396 points.
