Score Even, CP Got Even, Princess She Not, Just Call Me Boss, Lady Budapest in action
All roads lead to the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTC), Arima Park, West Coast Berbice as thousands are expected to swarm the venue for the eagerly anticipated second running of the ‘Real President Cup’ Horserace Meet which is being held in honour of Guyana’s President, His Excellency, Brigadier David Granger.
The event is organized by RSTC in collaboration with Friends of Rising Sun.
Chief Organizer, Fazal Habibulla has disclosed that over 80 of the country’s best horses have entered to compete so far. Eight top notch races are listed for the day which has over $7.5 million in incentives available including cash and trophies.
The feature A and lower event has 10 animals lined up to compete over 1400m and has attracted 10 of the country’s top runners.
The impressive lineup will see the return of Guyana only A class runner Score’s Even and includes horses such as Princess She not, CP Got Even, Jack in My Style, Just call me Boss, Lady Budapest, Brave Sky, Release The Beast, Plum Plum and the newly imported Light Up Canada running out of the Nand Persaud Karibee Rice Stable, are expected to take to the starting gates in the 1400M event for a $1.2 M purse and the coveted President’s Cup.
The E and Lower 1400M event is expected to have Release the Beast, Because I Say So, Plum Plum, Precise Gold, Good Will Boy, It’s My Choice, Mansoon and California Strike among others competing for the winning pocket of $600,000 and trophy.
A competitive field has been entered in the G class 1400M race that includes the likes of Keep on Swinging, Red Rocket, Cat Messiah, It’s My Choice, Campador, Big Man Boss, Witchy Poo and Red Rocket as the race for the winning prize of $400,000 and trophy.
The inform Cat Messiah of the G. Singh Stable is among those lined up in the H and lower 1400M race alongside Bird Man, She So Special, It’s My Turn, Isn’t She Charming, Quiet Dancer, Midnight Blues, Sweet Return, Rosetta and Royal Cash for the $300,000 first prize and trophy.
Animals such as Champion Boy, Royal Jet, Seven Dust, Born To Be True, Genuine Risk and King Stanley will be looking to crown their name on the two year old event for Guyana Bred horses over 1100M for a winning pocket of $280,000 and trophy.
There are over 10 animals that includes Massiquita Dr, Slim Shady, Liquid Lion, Golden Kiss and Red Region are among the lot entered in the event for animals classified ‘J’ and lower for the $260,000 winners money and trophy over 1100 M.
There is an event for animals classified K and lower over 1100M for a top prize of $240,000 and trophy with 12 animals lined up to compete.
There are over 27 animals entered for the two L class events.
The first event is for open L and lower horses over 1100M for a winning purse of $220,000 and trophy.
The second event is for L class maidens horses (that hasn’t won an event) which has some 15 entries as they also compete over 1100M for a winning pocket of $180,000 and trophy.
Meanwhile, the Government of Guyana and Nand Persaud and Company Limited has joined the list of sponsors that includes Banks DIH Limited, Inshan Bacchus Hard Runnings Tucking Service and Racing Stable, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stable, Gansham Singh of No 6 West Coast Berbice, Trophy Stall Bourda Market, Chico Singh, Hablaw Meat Centre, Rising Sun Cattle Ranch and the Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot among others.
Top jockeys, runner up, stable and trainer will be presented with incentives compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organizers.
