The 1995 Lorenzo Withrite led U-20 Team was the First to Play on American Territory

According to Statistician Charwayne Walker, It was mentioned that the 2016 National Under-15 team presently participating at the Central American Basketball Under-15 Tournament in Puerto Rico is the first Youth team representing Guyana to play on United States territory.
For the record, Guyana under the captaincy of Lorenzo Withrite proudly participated at the International Scouting Services Youth Championship in Atlanta Georgia in July 1995. Guyana’s youths were invited by Mr. Dale Mock, an international basketball scout who witnessed Guyana National Under-19 team placing third at the Inaugural Junior Caricom Championship in the Cayman Islands in July 1995.
