A number of leading racehorses have taken entry, while a number of major companies are on board for the second edition for the real President Cup Horserace meet set for this Sunday at the Rising Sun Turf Club, Arima Park West Coast Berbice.
With entries expected to close yesterday, over 60 of the country’s top racehorses had taken entry for the meet organized by the Rising Sun Turf Club in collaboration with Friends of Rising Sun. The event is also being held as a continuation of Guyana’s 50 Anniversary Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Eight races are on the cards with over $7.5M in incentives up for the takings including cash and trophies.
Among the companies on board so far are Beverage giants Banks DIH Limited, Inshan Bacchus Hard Running Tucking Service and Racing Stable, Jumbo Jet Racing stable, Trophy Stall Bourda Market and Chester Fry Chicken among others.
Horses such as Princess She not, Jack in My Style, Spit Fire, Just call me Boss, Lady Budapest and Because I Say So, Red and Lovely and Goodwill Boy are expected to take to the starting gates in the feature A and lower 1400M event for an encouraging $1.2 M and the President’s Cup.
The E and Lower 1400M event is expected to have Release the Beast, Brace Sky, Because I Say So, Plum Plum, Perfect Wind Storm, Precise Gold, Good Will Boy, Right To Rule, Mass Media, Red and Lovely, Mansoon and California Strike competing for the winning pocket of $600,000 and trophy.
Keep on Swinging, Red Rocket, Cat Messiah, It’s My Choice are among the horses entered for the 1400M event for G and lower horses for a winning prize of $400,000 and trophy.
Cat Messiah will be looking for another win when it competes among the H and lower horses over 1400M, but will have to get past the likes of It’s My Turn, Isn’t She Charming, Miss Lova, Lova, Quiet Dancer, Bridal Stone Corner, Midnight Blues, Amazing Run, Sweet Return and Super Bowl for the $300,000 first prize and trophy.
The two year old event is for Guyana Bred horses over 1100M for a winning pocketing $280,000 and trophy.
A competitive field is expected to take to the track in the race for animals classified ‘J’ and lower for the $260,000 winners money and trophy over 1100 M.
Horses running in the K and Lower 1100M even will battle for a top prize of $240,000 and trophy. The K and lower 1100M event will see the winner taking home $220,000 and trophy.
The final event is for horses classified L and lower with a winner’s money of $180,000 and trophy also over 1100M.
Top jockeys, runner up, stable and trainer will be presented with incentives compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organizers.
