The Caribbean Badminton International Championships (CAREBACO) being played in Aruba at the Centro Deportivo Sports Hall continued Saturday with the Guyanese players moving into the Finals for Mixed Doubles with Narayan Ramdhani & Priyanna Ramdhani and Boys Doubles with Narayan Ramdhani & Jonathan Mangra.
In the Boys and Girls Singles, both Narayan Ramdhani & Priyanna Ramdhani lost in the Semi-Finals and settled for Bronze Medals.
Boys Singles – No. 1 seeded player Narayan Ramdhani vs. No. 3 seeded player Cesar Adonis Brito Gonzalez (Dominican Republic) saw the Dominican Republican take the first game at 21-18. Narayan then came back in the second game to win 19-21. The DR player then took the final game at 21-11 and the set 2-1.
Girls Singles – Priyanna Ramdhani vs. Amanda Yearwood (Barbados), the Bajan took the first game at 21-14. Priyanna then won the second game at 13-21 and then lost the final game at 21-13 and match 2-1.
Boys Doubles – Narayan Ramdhani & Jonathan Mangra defeated Jade Allman & Joshua Smith (Trinidad) in the semi-finals 21-11, 21-18 to reach the finals.
Mixed Doubles – Narayan Ramdhani & Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Renaldo Sinanan & Jade Renales (Trinidad) 21-8, 21-7 to reach the finals.
The GBA expresses thanks to Mohamed’s Enterprise, Republic Bank, NSC, BK International, Hand in Hand Insurance, Crown Mining, Gio Tech and Cosmopolitan Trading for their assistance in making the journey possible.
The Tournament concluded last evening with the Guyanese players hunting gold medals in both the Mixed and Boys Doubles.
