The Boyce & Jefford Track and Field Committee hosted its annual workshop for Officials in Linden on Saturday as part of its developmental mandate ahead of this weekend’s Track and Field Classic at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Ground, Linden.

Technical Director of the Boyce & Jefford Track and Field Committee, Mark Scott conducted the workshop. Scott informed that it is important to continue to host the forum since the rules of the sport is always being updated.
“About 90 percent of the officials we use are from Linden. This is deliberately done to build capacity of officials in this community where the meet is held. Based on what we have done over the years, these officials are among the most knowledgeable in the sport,” Scott indicated in a press release.
The workshop has been an annual feature of the Classic, which is aimed at developing officials according to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) rule book. Approximately 35 Officials attended to forum on Saturday, representing the core group to officiate at the meet this weekend.
