Vishal XI and East Coast XI registered victories when the Everest Cricket Club hosted
two softball matches on Friday night.
Vishal XI overcame HS Masters by seven wickets. Batting first, HS Masters managed 138-6 off their allocation of 15 overs. Rocky Ally slammed 52 while Shaheed Mohamed got 30; Yoodhanlall Sukhlall, Lakhan Mohamed and Akiem Vieira took one wicket each.
Vieira then blasted six fours and three sixes in scoring 52 as Vishal XI replied with 139-3 in 12 overs. Sahadeo Hardaiow struck 40 and Sukhlall, a former Essequibo U19 player made 35 not out. Vieira picked up the man-of-the-match award.
East Coast XI defeated Savage XI by eight wickets. Savage XI batted first and scored 142-8 in 15 overs. Rawl Reid stroked 45 and Raymond Bisraj 36; R. Reddy picked up three wickets. East Coast XI responded with 143-2 in 13 overs. R. Ryan made 51 and Reddy 25. (Zaheer Mohamed)
