Exciting Twenty20 cricket is coming back to Guyana with a bang. However, this time it will be hosted at the Albion ground, Berbice under lights on Sunday September 11.
This will be the first time in the history of Berbice cricket that so many high profile cricketing stars will shine under what is expected to be clear night sky displaying top class batting power and exceptional bowling skills.
According to promoter Paul ‘DJ Stress’ Bonar the excitement in anticipation for what should be a pulsating Event is all over Facebook since the news and video updates were uploaded last week.
“Many cricket superstars from the Caribbean and many from Guyana will be at Albion Community Center Ground compliments of the cricket promotional group Cricket Kings. The champion players coming to Guyana include Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Rayad Emrit, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Smith, Jason Mohamed, Rovman Powell, Nicholas Pooran and Lendl Simmons,” informed DJ Stress.
He also informed that the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has granted written permission for the Champions Twenty20 Cup, while the Berbice Cricket Board (GCB) has given their blessings to the mega Event.
There will be an exhibition match at 16:00hrs followed by the ultimate Champions Twenty20 Cup match at 20:00hrs.
Tickets cost $1,500 and will be released this Wednesday at the following locations: – Imran & Son (Rosehall Town), Imran & Daughters (Rosehall Town), A. Ally & Sons (New Amsterdam & Corriverton), Sham Beer Garden (Cumberland, Canje) and Lalsa General Store (D’Edwards Village) or pay $2,000 at the gate.
