The look of satisfaction was evident on the faces of students of Morgan’s Learning Centre, (MLC) yesterday, as they shared their Caribbean Secondary Certificate Examination (CSEC) success stories.
In recent years, young MLC students have been among the nation’s top CSEC achievers. The students, who are between the 12- 15 years old, have been leading the way in this regard. This year, MLC pupils have collectively acquired CSEC passes in four subject areas.
These include Principles Of Accounts (POA), Principles Of Business (POB), Mathematics and Office Administration, (OA).
When Kaieteur News visited MLC’s John Street, Campbellville, Georgetown location, the students eagerly shared examination experience.
Chirag Chandwani, 12, obtained a distinction in Principles of Accounts, (POA). He said that he is thankful for the confidence which his teacher, ‘Sir’ Orin Morgan, placed in him.
“When I first came here to register my (older) brother for lessons, Sir Morgan saw my (potential) and expressed confidence that I would do well… I have been attending classes here for about nine months now and I am happy with my CSEC results,” the Mae’s Secondary School student stated.
“I am thankful to my teacher, parents and of course God for my results.”
Similarly third formers, Shemar Berkley, Malini Ghansiam, Carolann Correia, Tarren Niles and Princess Charles expressed gratitude to their parents and teachers for motivating them to do well. The teenagers wrote POA and acquired distinctions and Grade twos in the subject area.
Pupils at the fourth form level also did exceedingly well.
The successful students are Sausha Seepersaud, Roshanna Young, Tamera Gomes, Kofi Victorine, Kevon Fraser, Malachi Adonis, Tamera Leslie, Stephen Rodney, Sushela Charran, Krystal Ambrose, Jasmine Waldron, Kimberly Hooper, Shanice Rose, Jared Harris, Shemar Clarke, Nicholas Brusch and Issana Sunich. They too expressed thankfulness to Mr. Morgan and noted satisfaction at attaining the top Grades.
A beaming Sir Morgan told Kaieteur News, that his goal is to always stir up the potential of his students. According to Morgan, MLC is a place where ordinary students are given the opportunity to do extraordinary things. He noted that “dedication is all it takes.” He said that the institute is dedicated to providing the quality education, in addition to a fun and memorable learning experience.
Mr. Morgan also stresses the importance of having a balanced lifestyle and inculcating supplementary activities in the academic programme. As such, MLC has social etiquette classes and athletic activities as part of its curriculum.
