of Guyana’s most lucrative athletics event.
R&D Engineering was one of the first companies to support the event when it was birthed back in 2010 and signalled its intention of maintaining support. The Boyce/Jefford Classic VII will be held on August 27-28 at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Ground, Linden.
“We are happy to continue to be part of the Boyce/Jefford Track and Field Classic because we can honestly say that we have been there from the beginning. We’ve seen the magnitude of the meet,” Managing Director of R&D Engineering, Reginald Roach, indicated.
One of the founders of the Classic, Colin Boyce, said that athletes can only continue to develop if they have the right platform to do so; he said that the main aim of the meet is to give athletics a significant place in Guyana with a major event.
The meet offers a total of $2M in cash prizes for clubs and another $900,000 in individual cash prizes. In addition, the top performers will receive medals and trophies while the clubs will also get trophies for the Club Championships.
