A father and his two sons are now in custody following the brutal chopping of three men on Sunday afternoon at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam.
According to information, the three men injured are Aston Simon, 42, a father of five, of 22 Sheet Anchor, East Canje Berbice, Jason Wilson, 27, an operator of Mai Mai Dam, Angoy’s Avenue and Carlos Motie called “Buddy”, 25, of 19 Sheet Anchor, East Canje Berbice. The incident allegedly took place around 17: 30 hrs on Sunday at Mai Mai dam.
According to reports, the accused and Wilson all lived in the said area. The police had received certain information and had raided the house of the accused. The alleged assailants subsequently accused Wilson of giving information to the police. Members of the home started to threaten Wilson.
Subsequently Simon relocated. On Sunday, Wilson accompanied by Simon, one Devon Hercules and Motie along with taxi driver returned to the area to inquire what was the source of the problem. However, upon arriving they were set upon by the accused and brutally chopped.
Simon received the worst of the injuries; he received a chop to his neck, his left arm was severed above the wrist, while his right arm was also badly chopped.
Wilson was chopped on his upper back, his chest, while his left ear was severed.
Motie was chopped to his right side rib.
However, another source stated that the men had a dispute over a woman. The men left the area and subsequently returned and were pounced upon by the three accused.
Following the chopping the men had disappeared from the area.
The police had returned to the area around 01:00 on Monday and nabbed the two sibling suspects. Their father was arrested around noon today after he visited the police station.
Investigations are ongoing and charges are likely soon.
