A 25-year-old man is currently on life-support in the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit after being involved in an accident last Sunday.
Fariad Alli, a mason, of Number 70 Village, collided with a calf while riding his motorcycle on the Number 73 Village Public Road, Corentyne, around 22:30 hrs. Reports are that the calf ran into the path of the motorcyclist.
The young man’s mother, Jamela Alli, said that she was at home when she got a phone call that her son was involved in an accident. The older Alli said that she believes that her son was going to a pool shop when the incident happened. She said that the young man is unresponsive.
Meanwhile, Alli’s sister, Shaimoon said that her sibling was at her home at Number 71 Village and left, saying that he was heading home.
“I told him to make sure he go home straight and he said ‘yes’ and he left,” the sibling said.
She explained that sometime after she called her mother to enquire whether her brother had reached home.
“I asked mommy if he reach home and she said no, so I say he mussy get away and gone at the pool shop.”
She said shortly after, a man went to her mother’s home and informed her that her son had been involved in an accident and was taken to the hospital.
Alli’s condition is listed as critical.
