Roselin Fernandes of Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was remanded to prison after she was discovered being in possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking.
The woman who was arrested after she was found to be in possession of over 36 grams of cannabis, pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The court heard that on August 11, last, police ranks acting on information received went to Lot 42 Stanleytown, where a search was conducted.
According to information, a plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis were discovered under a board in the bathroom of the home.
Additional checks were made in the house and police subsequently found 19 small plastic bags containing similar items. The items found were weighed and amounted to a total 36.464 grams of cannabis.
Fernandes was then told of the offences committed and was subsequently arrested.
She is expected to return to court on August 26.
