To be a champion in sports you have to have these four factors Dedication, Time, Discipline & Sacrifice and Sunburst National Badminton player Narayan Ramdhnai has mastered all four and was rewarded by signing a five year contract with Shuttlesport Badminton Academy located in Vancouver Canada.
The Guyanese will be working towards qualifying for the 2020 Olympics and the Canadian Academy will see him through college and university.
“After reaching 53 ranked in the world he was approached by 5 international Universities/Clubs and we favored Shuttlesport which had all the right conditions to take him to his goals in Badminton and his education,” His Coach and Father Gokarn Ramdhnai informed.
Narayan takes up this scholarship in September 2016 where he will attend the Douglas College based in Vancouver and start his training with Shuttlesport Badminton Academy.
This achievement did not come overnight as this player started at the age of 4 years old, attend his first international tournament at 6 and continued in an upwards direction winning all his age group tournaments locally.
He then moved on to be Guyana’s Junior and Senior Champion and continued to dominate in the Caribbean, Pan American and South America Tournaments and although still a junior player, qualified and played the senior events at the CAC Games 2014 in Veracruz Mexico, the Pan Am Olympic Festival 2014 in Xalapa Mexico & the Pan Am Games 2015 in Toronto Canada.
