Guyana began its bid to retain the Ladies Team Title at the Caribbean Squash Championships at the Queens Park Oval Squash Courts, Trinidad on Thursday Evening. They made a clean sweep of Bermuda winning five matches to nil with two matches won by walkover. Ashley Khalil and the Wiltshire sisters all won very handily against their opponents.
The Veteran’s team also played its second match Thursday only to come up one win short of an upset against the defending Veteran’s team champions. Ramon Chan-A-Sue (40+) and Alwyn Callendar (60+) won for Guyana. Guyana were scheduled to play the OECS yesterday.
The men’s team, without number one player Sunil Seth who is out due to torn ligaments in his ankle, were to begin their quest for the Men’s Team title yesterday when they come up against Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in the evening.
