Last week, a Pourderoyen, West Coast Demerara businessman awarded several successful Secondary School Entrance Examination (SSEE) students with monetary prizes and shared out hampers to the elderly as a way of giving back to his community.
David Hunte, who is the proprietor of ‘Good Times Bar,’ was also instrumental in organizing a team which cleaned several drains and parapets in the village.
One of the students, Millik Fausette received a cellular phone and $10,000 cash. The lad scored 534 marks at the national examinations and secured himself a place at the Bishops’ High School. Several elderly women were given hampers containing food supplies and toiletries.
They were also treated to facials, pedicures and manicures.
