Guyana’s oldest Insurance company, Hand in Hand Insurance on Tuesday last became the latest official sponsor to come on board for the Rose Hall Town 46th Anniversary Celebration that would be organised by the Cricket teams of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS. The insurance giant would be sponsoring a 5/5 cricket tournament for ten teams at the cost of $188,000.
Secretary/CEO of the RHTYSC, Hilbert Foster at the simple presentation ceremony at the company’s New Amsterdam office, expressed the Club’s gratitude to the Management of the Company, especially Chairman Johnny Carpenter and New Amsterdam Branch Manager Tajpaul Adjodhea for their assistance towards making the Rose Hall Town Week celebration a success. Hand in Hand Insurance, Foster stated is one of the main sponsors of the RHTYSC, MS and he noted that the company, which has an office in the township, has always been supportive of activities directed towards youth and sports development.
The one day cricket tournament would be played on Sunday 2016.09.18 at the Area ‘H’ Ground as part of a 46th anniversary Day of Sports that would also include football and basketball tournaments.
A total of 10 teams including three form the RHTYSC, MS would battle for prizes worth over $100,000. The Second division teams involved would be allowed two first division players, while the first two overs would be power play overs where only two fielders would be allowed out of the 30 yards circle. The tournament would be played on a knockout basis. Berbice Manager of Hand in Hand Insurance, Tajpaul Adjodhea stated that his company has a long working relationship with the township of Rose Hall and was pleased to be associated with its 46th anniversary celebration. He described the township as a progressive hub of development and expressed confidence that the Town Week celebrations would be a great success. Hand in Hand Insurance as a responsible corporate entity, Adjodhea stated invests heavily in education and sports especially cricket.
The RHTYSC, MS from the 14th to 25th of September would be organising a series of activities to celebrate Guyana’s smallest town 46th anniversary as a township. The Club whose Honorary Patron is H.E President David Granger has committed itself to organising Guyana’s best ever Town Week celebration.
Apart from the Day of Sports, other activities includes the Opening Ceremony, Medical Outreach Programme, Public Exhibition, Steel-band Concert, Launching of a Booklet on the history of Rose Hal Town, Opening of a Family Recreational Park, Rose Hall Town Cuisine Competition, Educational Competition among others.
The Club is issuing an invitation to all overseas based residents to return home to be part of the memorable celebrations.
