During the opening of tenders at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), a contract for constructing pump stations along the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) attracted colossal bids. They will be built at Lusignan (Lot one), Buxton/Vigilance (Lot two) and Hope/Enmore (Lot three).
The contract is being administered by the Ministry of Agriculture – Agriculture Sector Development Unit (ASDU). The engineer’s estimate for lot one was $370M. For lot two it was $256.2M and for lot three, $424.2M.
