Bail was set at $75,000 for Wayne Goriah, who is accused of fraudulently converting the proceeds of a generator given to him by another man to sell.
It is alleged that on October 5, 2015, at Regent Street, Georgetown, Goriah,36, of Robb and Cummings Streets, Georgetown, being solely entrusted by Aubrey Williams with a 7000 watts Honda generator to sell and return the proceeds, fraudulently converted same to his own use and benefit.
Goriah, who had no legal representation, denied the allegation read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly. Police Prosecutor Kevin London did not oppose bail for the defendant.
Goriah admitted that he was indeed given the generator by the virtual complainant to sell. He claimed that he had already made arrangements to repay Williams.
Goriah will make his next court appearance on August 30.
