Dear Editor,
I write to you on issues that abound in Region 8- Potaro/Siparuni District. I am a small building contractor with the desire to work assiduously if given the opportunity by officers in the aforementioned region.
I have tendered for a chance to get a contract with Regions 1, 2, 7 and 8 but so far I have not been successful. This is due to the fact that there is not a balanced playing field and as a small contractor I believe I have not been treated fairly, had this been so, this letter would not be necessary since I would have accepted my fate.
I happen to know that a lot of skullduggery is practiced in at least one of the Regions and that is Region 8. I was personally approached to share my payment with a certain officer before I am approved, being a contractor. At a smaller scale this can never be possible and editor, even if I was a large scale contractor I won’t encourage such lawlessness.
Sir, I was successful in my bid for maintenance of a building in Bartica, another project and another one in Region 7. I crave your paper’s intervention in this matter so that the changes that are fought for can become a reality and corruption can be eliminated from our society altogether. Thanking in anticipation for a speedy intervention.
Small contractor
