The woman who was struck down on the East Bank Demerara Public road (EBD) in the vicinity of Houston on Friday night has still not been identified.
According to reports no relative has come forward to identify the body. The dead woman is listed as “unknown” at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) mortuary.
This publication understands that the woman was walking along the road at around 20:00hrs when a heavily tinted vehicle struck her down.
She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested.
The woman is of East Indian descent and looks to be in her twenties.
